President Farmajo meets with World Bank President

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has held a meeting with the president of World Bank, David Malpass in New York.
In a twitter post, Villa Somalia said president Farmajo discussed with the leader on recovery and financial reforms.
According to the post, the leader of the international money lending institution lauded the reforms achieved by the Somali government.
“HE Pres. @M_Farmaajo appreciates the @WorldBank’s acknowledgment of Somalia’s commendable financial reforms and has assured the leadership @DavidMalpassWBG that the country will build on ongoing economic recovery to transform other key areas for Somalia’s overall transformation,” the post reads.
On his part, Malpass said it is encouraging to see that Somalia is focused on growth and entrepreneurship.
“Had an encouraging conversation today at #UNGA with Somali President @M_Farmaajo. I look forward to furthering progress on telecom reform, fintech + mobile banking projects, & anti-corruption efforts,” he said.
President Farmajo also talked with Acting Managing Director of the IMF, Mr. David Lipton on Somalia’s economic reforms under SMP4.
“We are making clear progress in reforming our economic and fiscal fundamentals and instilling good governance. We are committed to achieving debt relief,” President Farmajo said on twitter.
