The election of the SDN board and assembly
On Wednesday 25 January 2023 SDN Somalia Disability Network election for the board and the assembly is held in Mogadishu at the SDN office. The election is the second term of the SDN governing body for the board of directors and the assembly of the network. The election is organized by the SDN Second term governing body’s election committee.
The election is participated by members from the organization 26 persons where both candidates and voters for the governing bodies of the SDN. The election committee made schedule for the voting process of the election. The committee has prepared registration document, the ID card for the participants of the election, 70 persons from the members of the SDN, CSOs, DPOs and members from the university students.
The first round for the election starts 9:40 PM the election committee made screening for the people participating the election the voters, candidates, observers and gusts who are present in the election place. The election committee made attendance for the voters and the candidate the core parts of the election. And the two supporting teams the observer and the candidate present in the election place.
The first vote was made for the assembly the people voted for Mr. Omer Abdi Omar. The second vote was made for the deputy assembly. The second round the Chairperson of the Board was elected Mr. Abdullahi Hussein Osman, the secretary general was elected Mss. Fartun Mohamud Elmi And the treasure was elected for Mr. Ahmed Hassan Dige
The chairperson of the SDN Governing Body Election Mr. Yusuf Sh Ali Adow thanked to the all participates of the election and made brief for the election process and obligation of the committee which ends after this work. We thank again for the members of the PWDs, DPOs, CSOs and the members from the SIU internship teams who did good work and coordination in the election. And the observers and the gust who gave us their guide and oversight in the election process.
The new chairperson of the SDN thank to the people who participated the election the PWDs, DPOs, CSOs, SIU university Student Interns, the observers and the gust who all gave us hand to make possible such this achievement. We promise to work with all members and non-members PWDs and DPOs in the SDN and the stakeholder of the Disability inclusion in Somalia.
SDN second term election took place in Mogadishu on 25 January 2023 at SDN office with participation of observers and guests invited the work for the oversight and monitoring the election.
