President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo is today expected to meet with his Djiboutian counterpart Ismail Omar Gelleh, to discuss bilateral relations and the security cooperation between the two countries. The Somali leader arrived in Djibouti last night together with his delegation after a two-day official visit in Burundi. Farmaajo and his entourage was received at the airport by Djibouti Defence Minister, Ali Hassan Bahdoon and other senior government officials.
The two brotherly nations share a number of objectives, including regional peace, economic progress and share a number of interests, based on the long history of the two nations. Djibouti is one of the five East African countries contributing troops to the African Union’s Mission in Somalia.
