Nashville (somalisan) – A huge explosion rocked a busy street in downtown Nashville, Tennessee in the United States, damaging buildings and injuring three people.
Authorities say they believe the blast was intentional, and the FBI is investigating.
Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said police were called to the area to shoot the scene, around 6 am, but there were no signs of exposing shooting occurred.
Officers arrived at the scene and saw a suspicious vehicle, and called the emergency services, but while they were waiting the car exploded.
Security experts believe the call was a forgery and that police were called to the scene to detonate it.
Aaron said three people were taken to hospital, although one was not in critical condition. He added that several people were also taken to the police station for questioning, but gave no details.
The case has been taken over by the FBI, which is the federal agency responsible for bombings and terrorism.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Mogadishu police station, killing at least three people and wounding dozens more.
A neighbor at the scene said he heard what looked like a huge bomb, which he thought was “the end of the world”.
