WHD 2023S World humanitrain day is marked in Mogadishu
On Saturday 19 August 2023 the world humanitarian day is marked many places in the work and in Somalia. Members of the Somali disability inclusion cluster the IEDP Institute of Education for the Disabled People and the SOCCA Somalia Autism children care organization in Mogadishu. The event is participated by people from the PWDs, parents of the Autism and other people who make their commitment the cooperation with change of changes in Somalia.
The world humanitarian theme in this years is No Matter What a message to the world for the support of the people who need humanitarian aid and the donors to make better coordination’s on the ground. This day the world is marking with largest voice ever to priority thematic areas that needs interventions. The world is interested to respond the intentional and national disaster affect the societies.
Most articles of theSDG 17 goals the givespriority the support for the people with 17 thematic areas which are basic for the lives, protection and development. These articles demonstrate the reduction of poverty, illiteracy, hunger, climate changes and secure livelihoods for the most vulnerable people in the world mostly people in the third world and the countries with recurrent disasters that is attributed the suffering of tens million people in the worldwide.
Key speakers of the event are people invited from the disability inclusion cluster and the members of the Somali disability inclusion coalition that work closely for the common goals and objectives in Somalia for the protection and development of the people with disabilities socieioenomic, education, health care and political participation. The partners working disability inclusion on the ground in Somalia area mostly initiatives from the PWDs and implemented by members of the organizations.
Mr. Abdullahi Hassan Hussein the chairperson of the Somali disability inclusion ( from the PWDs) said we are great in number the society put invisible in the public and private life in Somalia both urban and non urban society regardless of clans and geographic. There enormous people who have variety of disability a total estimate of 2,5 million people. This is an estimation made in the last years.
Mrs. Aisha Ahmed lead actor for the SACCO Somalia which is giving and attention for the children suffering autism complications. The problem has roles in the personal or the families. Instantly when most of fathers realis this case is differed their notable whichthe abled children There are some families whose children are weak and forgotten in the society without support and protection
Mr. Abdislan the father of the ( deaf child ) that needs public schools in the districts of the Banadir region. We need public schools in every district. Its is very hard to secure the children as protection officers. There are some obastcilesinfront of the deaf people for the education. And lack of investment for the education. We work collectively the education of the hearing impairment hat my cause problems to the both parties.
Mrs. Shukri the mother of Autism child say we have children with some kind of disaster that people see disaster or mental work. The mothers of these children are victim most of them widowed person divorced for mostly the autism person. Peer problems the children in the village try to attack the children with autistic. Seminary some of the children with autismdisorder to be like made persons not fit to learn and share more in common the people.
Fidiing of the event
Most participant in the event were people from diverse background the deaf people, physical and visual imparted. Beside there is children with autism disaster who have many problem with children abandoned their fathers. I took struggle to support access the care of the disabled people in general.
Most of the participants in the event relied the cooperation for the common goals and objectives in the environment some of you work. Where the PWDs and children with autism suffer disproportional human rights abuses that need be taken care in the ministry.
The visual impaired have the right to utilize the school with good service like water from the cafe company. We inform the [participants of this new interventions will be respond. The organizations should seek father sport and investment for the programs in Somali SSG finished.
There are no more policies and legislation that is progress. An active participation Is made by the people in the village who send some of the team. We have complain. Where they can sought the solution for their ordeal that ends exchange of opportunities. This box may help identify the data and the resource that priories what is going on the ground.
Exclusion of the humanitarian aid work in Somalia is one of the main obstacle that stand in front of the people. Include exclusion of humanitarian aid support food aid and other materials necessary for the basic lives of human being. The disability lack the participation of the disability inclusion education and cash voucher in Somalia.
The recommendations
In the one day event the participants underscore point of action for the solution of their problems that stakeholders may have role each, the DPOs mobilize and organize, donor’s partnership the government legal permit of the programs and institutions.
Recommendation to the DPOs
The disabled people organizations are encouraged to mobilize the PWDs for the participation of the humanitarian aid, emergency education and development programs. And make solution oriented respond in their strategic plan of action with referral information sharing mechanism to the stakeholders in Somalia
The CSOs should provide extensive training and awards nationwide the society for the role and rights of the PWDs in their programs and works. This can improve the education of the people for the inclusive for all public and private sectors. The markets, schools, hospital and banks service access the PWDs and children with autism problems. Insure the implementation free barriers in the infrastructures and the program coordination limitations.
The Donors based and working in Somalia should develop policy for the disability inclusion inline the united nation disability policy, the CRPD and the National legislation. That can create a condition where PWDs may have role and rights. And the DPOs may have involvement for the partnership which may lead really disability inclusion in Somalia. The allocation of the disability inclusion investment in line with CRPD more than 10% in the programs
The government of Somalia theexecution should prepare draft policies and allocation funds for the disability people. The NDA national disability Agency and the DPOs disabled people organization who are working vast majority of the people and ground in Somalia regardless of block and borders. And legislation of Somali should have the development of laws and the oversight of the implementation of the laws made to protect the PWDs and the expenditure of disability inclusion programs.
