Consultation meeting for the disabled people is held in Mogadsihu

members of the persons with disabilities PWDs and the  representatives  from the DPO disabled people organizations organized consultation meeting held in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia. Participated more than 40 persons both male and females

The agenda of the meeting was five key important issue concerning the decision making and the future of the persons with disabilities from the social, economic , political participation and national legislation process in the country.  The points are the fallowing

  1. CRPWDs convention rights persons with disabilities which is supposed to be ratified the next months in the parliament sessions.
  2. Elections and political part regulation for the 2020 the ration of the PWDs
  3. Constitutional reform and amendments ongoing process
  4. National disability agency which is passed the cabinet 18 July 2018
  5. Independent human rights commission

Inter active discussion and debate among the participants has produced the importance to be made monitoring the ongoing national works  and the role of the PWDs persons with disabilities.  Most of the participants thanked to the ministry of the human rights and women for their active role the ratification of the CRPWDs and national disability agency.

Although there has been some concerns for the national disability authority or agency mandate. Some of the people proposed an independent  authority or national agency which will work under the mandate of a ministry or ministries.

Somalia PWDs persons with disabilities has been very much  concerned  lack participation national organs the legislation and execution where they have not ministry in the cabinet, MPs in the bicameral parliament and  local authority or the  regional federal states.
