Two Special Forces officers lost their lives while seven others were seriously injured after their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Kutulo-Khorof Kharar route in Wajir on Friday in what points to a resurgence of terror attacks linked to al-Shabaab.
The officers who were on a routine patrol were travelling in the vehicle before the incident occurred at about 4pm.
On Monday, security officers who were on a routine foot patrol in Kutulo cheated death after an IED that had been planted on the route exploded. No officer was injured during that incident.
