PRESS STATEMENT *For Immediate Release*
The Federal Government has via INTERPOL issued an official request for international warrant for wanted fugitive Abdirashid Hassan Abdinur. The Federal Government has also issued a request to the Government of Kenya to assist with the arrest and extradition of the above named fugitive who is wanted for several serious crimes including international human rights violation, massacre of innocent civilians and illegally escaping government custody. The Federal Government of Somalia considers the fugitive a grave danger to the Somali people and want him extradited to Somalia to allow for due process to be completed.
The Federal Republic of Somalia places great importance on maintaining good relations with its neighbouring countries and the harbouring of a dangerous fugitive could seriously jeopardies the good relations that has so far existed between Kenya and Somalia and we are very hopeful that our Kenyan counterparts will adhere to calls from the Somali government as well as international human rights agencies and do its outmost best to ensure the arrest
