Ministry Of Health Directs Private Hospitals To Take Their Role In Curbing The Spread Of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of three more people due to COVID-19, and the recording of 44 new confirmed cases. Four more recoveries were also registered, according to the Ministry. Now, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country stands at 480, the total registered death toll is at 26, and the total number of recoveries from the virus is 14. 40 of the new 44 cases were recorded in the Banadir region and the remaining four in Puntland. 35 of the patients are male and nine are female.

The Minister of health, Fowsia Abikar confirmed the death of nine patients who were transferred from private hospitals in the capital in a critical situation. One of the patients was confirmed to have died of COVID-19 and seven others passed away as they were awaiting tests of their samples. The ninth patient was confirmed to have died of other unspecified complications other than COVID-19. MInister Fowsia directed the managers of the private health facilities in the capital to quickly refer patients with COVID-19-like symptoms to the De-Martino hospital to receive immediate medical assistance.
