
Somali government has said six government officials were killed by suicide attack in Mogadishu’s mayor office on Wednesday. Suspected female suicide bomber targeted weekly security meeting chaired by the mayor of Somali capital, Abdirahman Omar Osman. Three district commissioners, two directors and legal advisor were killed in the attack.They are
1.Mahad Elmi – District commissioner for Waberi
2. Sabah Abdullahi Asad – District commissioner for Abdiasis
3. Sahra Markenzi – District commissioner for Shangani
4. Abdullahi Dheere – Labour director at Banadir regional administration
5. Abdifatah Halane – Director of sanitation at Banadir regional administration
6. Adv Hassan Mohamed Sabriye – Legal advisor to the mayor
7. Engineer Shuriye – Director of planning at Banadir regional administration
The Minister for Information, Mohamed Abdi Mareye told the media that the security agencies are investigating the attack. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the main target was new UN envoy, James Swan who left the meeting with the Mayor earlier.
