Sdn somali disability network organized two days consultation meeting for the dpos the engagement with government the process of the establishment of the national disability policy. The meeting is held in mogadishu for the member of the dpos the disabled people organizations member the somali disability network local based in mogadishu the capitation city of somalia.
The two days consultation meeting is participated member from the disabled people organizations mostly the executives of the individual organization member the sdn network. The participants discussed the development of the national disability policy . A policy inline with crpd the convention rights persons with disabilities somali government signed and joined member countries 2019
The members of the sdn participant in the two days ndp national disability policy formation process in the hands of the ministry of the human rights women development. The meeting has made in-depth analysis ndps from other countries as comparative analyst where they found more inputs supporting the protection, inclusion, livelihood, equal opportunities and social service for the pwds both children, adult and old people.
The twos days consultation meeting demonstrated the role of the pwds and dpos for the development of the national disability policy in somalia. The participants gained information and knowledge about the services and materials that will support the future employment and the development of the pwds who great in number with more restrictions and exclusion of the public and private life in somalia.
