The government of Somalia has today successfully repatriated 17 citizens, including women, most of whom have been released from prisons in Tanzania.

The release of the detainees was facilitated by the Special Representative for Children and Migrants in the Office of the Prime Minister, Maryan Yassin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, IOM Somalia and Tanzania and the Somali Embassy in Tanzania.
Speaking at the repatriation ceremony, Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad thanked the agencies for their efforts and efforts to repatriate them.
