CRPD implementation workshop is held in Mogadishu
On Wednesday 30 March 2022 CRPD implementation training workshop session two is held in Mogadishu for the PWDs, DPOs and SCOs. The workshop is participates 10 persons from the disabled people and the non-disabled persons working the social and development. Somalia Disability Network organized the participants were given lessons that support the advocacy and protection of the PWDs and work coordination for the DPOs
The second session for CRPD implementation in Somalia workshop was held in the SDN office where the trainees furnished with articles of the convention and supplementary explanation and comparative analysis for the national laws and international laws. CRPD is one of the most powerful conventions in the world that serve for 1.3 billion people in the world who are the largest minority without role and representation in many countries in the world the participation of the economic and policy
The participants of the workshop were energetic team with high motivation and commitment to engage the public in Somalia with CRPD implementation skills. With support of the SDN that made CRPD implementation satiric plan with two phases that targets hundreds people. The phase one will reach one hundreds persons 😭 who will professional skilled consist of both disabled persons and non-disabled persons with gender consideration. In the phase two target population is one thousand participants from the disabled persons and non-disabled persons with high gender consideration. These people will be ambassadors in the grass root level community for the protection of PWDs and elimination of serotypes and prejudice in Somalia
The participants were divided into tow groups with topic to discuss
• Team one implementation for the CRPD
• Team two reporting and coordination the CRPd
The teams made presentation for their assignment and the technical working persons collected their input and contribution to the workshop and program in general. This uniquely designed work with professional strategic plan of action. SDN stand to make changes the situation of the PWDs in the country though public engagement. And the capacity building for the DPOs member the network and other invidual organization in the area to work closely the objectives and the goals.
