Bodies Of Two Non-Locals Killed In Fafi Sub-County Yet To Be Identified

The  bodies of two non-locals shot dead at a construction site by suspected Al-Shabaab militants on Tuesday evening in Alibore, Fafi sub-county are yet to be identified. Addressing the press in his office on Friday, the Garissa County Commissioner (CC), Meru Mwangi said that the two, a Mason and his assistant had no identification documents with them at the time of the incident. “It’s unfortunate that we were not able to identify the two as they did not have identification documents with them at the time of the incident. We expect to get their identity anytime from today,” Mwangi said. He said that the deceased fingerprints, whose bodies were removed to Garissa referral hospital, were taken by CID officer for investigation the case and they expect the results any time from today. Mwangi added that the mason was based in the area for the past five years and had constructed several houses. “He had had been nicknamed ‘Jelle’ by the locals. He travelled to his rural home and brought the assistant following increased workload only for them to meet their death,” he said.

Mwangi said the three hooded attackers approached the deceased who were alone at the site and shot them at point blank killing them on the spot, noting that the locals from a nearby village who rushed to the site on hearing the gunshots found the lifeless bodies of the duo lying on a pool of blood. they reported the matter to the police. The  County Police Commander (CPC), Afred Ogengo led a team of security officers to the scene on Wednesday and spent part of the day investigating the incident.
