On Saturday 3 December 2022 Somalia is one of the countries where the IDPD International Disabled People Day the 3 December is commemorated by the PWDs, CSOs, DPOs and government.
Several events is held mostly in Mogadishu participated many people representing variety sectors and groups in the society.

The ceremony was opened with Quran and the chairperson has made official opening of the event and made overall outline of the situations of the PWDs in Somalia. He noted the PWds need support and cooperation. Now there is number of event organized in one KM area this show the negligence for the PWDs and DPos from the government.
It is good to have strategic plan, development policy and laws
In the interval of the key speech there was drama and songs which shocked the emotion of the participants and raised concern for the situation of the PWDs in Somalia. The Kamil Group organized the event and made clear the public and private discrimination against the disability in the schools and employment sources.
The song lyrics say: after long time of exhaustion and ordeal the disability wakeup and bog down and worn for their role. It is discriminators who has divided them. Its SDn who that can make unity and collect from them all federal states.
The drama: team of four persons one blind person, one crawling boy talk alone an say we have finished our first degree where can we get employment. The physical disabled persons said to the public office. The reach office and meet senior persons siting in Sofa.
They asked employment and handed their certificate. He said how dare you read do you see my fingerer count them, sorry you can’t and you without legs who dare reach the office. Let me read the cv Oh! They high qualify then me go out of the office.
The participating the PWDs, SCOs, DPOs, member from government wakeup and shocked with scenario made in front of them,. They made highest clap for them. And member from the parliament promised to make accountability of this violations soon.
The national women organize secretary said I can’t express may emotion for this event, unusually have participated so far. I see our people making progress and working to talk with decision makers and demand equal opportunity.
Why PWDs and DPOs made this event today is really very important. All reads in the airport area is closed amid several event in the areas highly secured.
Mss. Ikhlas from Somali Visual impaired youth group said. I am very much happy to say my work in front of this people. I feel to day more valued.
The disability is not inability. We want support and protection from the discrimination. We request from our government make laws and policies that grantee equal opportunities in the public and private.
I acknowledge their role in the society can be restored for the establishment of policies and laws. The MPs here should make commitment of this. We can support them campaign for implementation.
Mr. Abdullahi Hassan from the inclusion cluster acknowledge the venture of the time for all participants. The event we organised is right and legitimate. If the government organise the y can, if we DPos want we can. If the accept to have cooperation it is optional. Put w demand common polices laws and strategic plans. Professor Abdirkarim the rector of the HImilo university said I feel more happy today with you this event. I really call to the private and public education sector to make inclusion disability in the education. ths shows their talents to organize such this palace more tight and secure for access the able people.
I hope they did what many people could not do. There talented people in this network who have the capacity to make empowerment and inclusion the disability in Somali. Our university will promise to make changes in the averment barriers, free scholarship and joint research
Mr Tahlii the chairperson of the Somali none state actors said its not good to hear what Abdulahi Hussein said the mobilization three events in place. I urge the unity of the PWDs and DPos work.
For the employment one in out of ten employees is very little I recommend more than one. I promise to work the PWDs and DPos
Senator Naima Hassan Gadhweyne the chairperson of committee justice, human rights and constitution in Somalia for the upper house said we very happy to stay with you. I see the need is laws, the government passed some laws and some other laws remain not passed. I will work hard to make the laws passed and enacted. I also promise to work the inclusion of the constitution and national commission for the human rights, anti-corruption and jurisdiction which is part of our mandate.
