Turkey has become the first Muslim country to send a high-ranking government delegation to New Zealand after Friday’s terror attacks on two mosques in Christchurch in which at least 50 people were killed.
Vice-President Fuat Aktay and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu arrived in New Zealand to take part in the funeral services of those killed in the attacks.
The senior Turkish officials are also expected to hold talks with the authorities in New Zealand.
An Australian national, Brenton Tarrant, 28, was charged with murder on Saturday.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern visited the mosque to comfort the victims of the terror attack that saw 50 worshipers, including children shot dead as they prayed.
